Regular baby rice cereal that you can buy in the grocery store will be your puppy’s first solid meal.

It will be a mess but it’s a step towards puppy food and this happens about 8 weeks of age.
Take some instant rice cereal and mix with a little warm goats milk. Try your best to spoon feed it to the puppy and hope that he can get the hang of it pretty quick. You can try to put it into a little puppy dish and feed it that way.
If you see a puppy trying to lick or eat milk rather than suck on it then you might want to try to feed him some cereal and see if he can eat it.
After I left Hawaii the puppies were just about ready to go on solid food. Some of them even by passed the rice cereal state and went right to the milk soaked kibble. My brother was very happy.
It was so nice to see the puppies grown and change and were now started to bark and look around to find you because they know where the food is and they look to you to feed and take care of them.
It really was the most rewarding experience I have ever had because I never had children and this was just being a mother 24/7. Now I know how hard it is to give birth to a baby, take care of a human baby and then do all the rest of the stuff we, as women, are expected to do!
